Northern regional workshop on “The Role of Climate Co-Benefit Methodologies for Strengthening Climate Action by Indian PSEs”

Building on its ongoing efforts to address climate change and promote sustainable development, the Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE), an apex body of Indian Public Sector Enterprises (PSEs) in collaboration with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, a German public-benefit federal enterprise, organized a regional workshop on “The Role of Climate Co-Benefit Methodologies for Strengthening Climate Action by Indian PSEs” in the Northern region (New Delhi) on 23-24 July 2024. This workshop, held under the Indo-German Support Project for Climate Action in India, was led by a consortium team comprising the Council on Energy, Environment and Water (CEEW), Oxford Policy Management (OPM), and Perspectives Climate Group (PCG). Industry experts from Godrej & Boyce Manufacturing Corporation Limited and Lucro Plastecycle Private Limited presented and discussed their climate co-benefit initiatives in areas such as circular economy/resource efficiency and forestry/biodiversity.

The Northern Region Workshop garnered an overwhelming response, with over 70 participants & speakers from more than 27 organizations in attendance. Recognizing the importance of making the Workshop a reference for the future, the inaugural session was live-streamed on the SCOPE YouTube Channel which continues to be widely viewed as many draw benefits from the guidance and interactions with the esteemed dignitaries.
